Wes Got The Job!!!

Ok this will probably be my last post ( but I could find time maybe) for a few days but I had to share the great news with everyone! Wes got his dream job at TVA Browns Ferry! I am soooo excited and so is he. He starts July 9th. God has really blessed us. Once again I hope everyone has a great weekend. I'll catch ya'll on the flip side :)

House Stuff...Feeling frustrated!!

Well we closed yesterday so we are officially homeowners. Now comes the fun part of moving in and getting settled. I am pretty overwhelmed right now because Wes is having to work and I feel like I am all alone in doing this. It's frustrating! :) Half of my apartment is packed up and half of it isn't. They are moving furniture this weekend. We have the apt until June 11...but I can't stand this chaos for long :) My parents, God Bless them, are like well why haven't you completely gotten your apt packed....well lets see should I remind them that first of all I have only been out of school a week..I had to clean up my classroom and pack all of that up because I am changing grades next year which means changing rooms. Then we had that trip to D.C. Then all of this closing business. Then I had to run around turning things on and off...PLUS get my car tag renewed and my drivers license changed!! It just frustrates me that they are acting like I should have already had this stuff done...tell me when I have had time??? I love my parents I really do but sometimes I could do without their "wonderings." I am sorry this post is a whining post....I am just getting stressed :) I love my husband too....but for him to take it upon himself to do something to help me I have to ask...and that frustrates me too!! He doesn't mean to be unhelpful...he just doesn't want to mess up anything or do something wrong. I admit I can be anal about stuff and sometimes I don't go into enough detail about what I want. But please why can't he just ask me??? AHHHHHHHHHHHH!! Ok now I feel a little better! Thanks for letting me vent!
I'm off to clean up to my liking the new house. I probably won't get to post much over the next few days. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Memorial Day weekend

I just wanted to post and tell everyone to have a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend! We are going to Washington D.C. tomorrow!!! I plan to take lots of pics and I'll post when we get back! Have a great weekend!!

Movie Recommendation

Go see Shrek the Third!! I love all the Shrek movies and this one was no disappointment! I'll give you a hint....the princesses kick major butt in this movie :) Happy Weekend!

The Countdown Begins

Well we are officially under the 2 week mark. The closing mark that is. Wow so exciting but a little scared as well. We are fixing to pay out the most money at one time that we have ever paid out and I must say that is scary...but exciting knowing that we are fixing to be HOMEOWNERS!!! I am super glad that I have been busy this week and then I have my Washington D.C. trip to pass the time next week! It helps the time fly by :)
I found out yesterday that you can't renew your license until 60 days or less before it is due to be renewed. Well see mine isn't due to be renewed till the end of July because back when I was about to turn 15 (12 years ago!) I didn't make the best grade in Algebra 2 ( did anyone else have Mr. Gross?) so my mom didn't let me get my permit on my birthday. I had to wait a whole month!! Well it might be a problem now. See we are going on our trip with my parents. My mom did the booking of the plane tickets. She booked my ticket in my married name of course. Well the only problem is that I never changed my license last summer when we got married because I knew that my renewal date was this summer. Now my married name is on my ticket but my photo I.D. that you are required to have to board a plane has my maiden name. And they wouldn't let me renew yesterday because I am not under the 60 day mark!! The lady at the DMV told me to call the airline and either have them change my ticket to my maiden name or explain to them what is up and ask if I can bring a copy of my marriage certificate to prove that I am married. Well I don't want to take the actual marriage certificate because I don't want to lose it. I wonder if a copy would work. So anyway long story short, I need to call Delta today and see what can be done....surely this won't be a big issue. Hopefully not...we leave a week from today! Wish me luck!

Crazy Gunman on the Loose!

Ok so I never thought I would be stuck not able to go to my apartment complex for 4 hours because of a crazy gunman on the loose. Now I can add that to the been there done that list of my life. Yes it's true. About 5pm today a man bearing a AK47 shot his father at the Colonial Grand Edgewater apartment complex and then left and stalked that apartment complex and ours which is right next door. They were letting noone out and noone in as they went on a manhunt for him. Luckily me and Wes had left about 15 minutes prior to go out to our house and check on progression and then we went and grabbed a bite to eat and then went to Wal-Mart. While in Wal-Mart my mom calls me and tells us not to go home because the road was blocked and she told me what was going on. So from about 7:30 till 9:15 we hung out in a gas station parking lot down the road from our complex with about 50 other people who were just trying to get home. It was pouring down rain as well!! Talk about crazy. As of right now we are only assuming they caught him because they all of the sudden quit blocking the roads. Surely they wouldn't unblock the roads if they hadn't caught him. They were allowing people back in. I hope they give us information on the 10 o'clock news so I can sleep. There are some messed up people in this world.
On a side note I wished I had had my camera with me because there was some awesome lightning going on. I could have taken some really neat pictures.

Childhood Happiness

Ah all it takes to make a 21 month old happy is a swing on her Nana's back porch swing. I took these Sunday when we had a family dinner at my parents house. We were treated to Macy's cuteness, which if I do say so myself she has a lot of :) She made my dad's day by calling him and recognizing him as "Pop." And as of now for some odd reason I am Aunt "Cookie." Every time I say who am I she says...Cookie. If I say, "Say Candi" she says "Cookie." So for now it is Aunt Cookie :)

Sick...Again!

What is up with my body lately? I am catching every little cold out there...it reminds me of when I first started teaching. Today I feel like crap! Extremely sore throat, body aches, and that feeling that I just want to sleep!
Anyway..a few quick updates:
1. Wes' interview went fine. He found out that if he gets the job he will start at the beginning of July. This means we can actually go to the beach for my b'day/anniversary since they are only a week apart.

2. We close on the house in 4 weeks. We went out there yesterday afternoon to take measurements on the windows for blinds. They had our carpet pad laid out and the carpet roll in the garage. So my guess is that carpet is going in this week. They still have some painting to do so they either better do it before they lay that carpet down or cover that carpet up really good because if they get paint on my brand new carpet I am not going to be a happy camper.
Also we had a minor problem, but my realtor assured me it would get fixed. My stove top is supposed to be smooth, it is in the contract. Well the lady at the decorating store we had to go through just wrote down our color appliances which is black. I asked her at the time if she should put smooth in parenthesis and she was like no if it is in your contract he'll know. Well guess what? The stove top was not smooth. That lady should have put it down because heck...it probably wasn't the actual builder who called her to ask what color appliances...it was probably one of the workers, and do you think he looked at the contract? Um no why would he. Luckily our builder is a really nice understanding guy and so all Patti has to do is call him and the problem will be fixed. I tell you I just don't like that lady at the decorating store much, she hasn't impressed me. A few posts down tells about my other adventures with her. Ugh!!
3. We are having a garage sale at my mom's Saturday. The weather is saying thunderstorms...this is one time I will say I hope not. I need to get rid of this stuff. :)
4. I want to give a HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROZ! shout out! Hope it is a good one :)
5. I also want to give a HANG IN THERE! shout out to Colleen. Not much longer and little (or big :) ) man Dash will be here!
