A very hard to accomplish 10 on Tuesday!

1. I am super excited about my new blog. I mean super excited. Seems that the closer to July I get the more baby feverish I get :) I definitely believe in the whole biological clock thing now....cause mine is just ticking away!
2. Speaking of babies, we are expecting any day now to have kitty babies. Savannah is getting huge. When she runs down the hall it sounds like horses galloping lol.
3. I scored a really good deal at Target the other day. I got a new comforter set, lamp, and pillows all for under $60. This is for the guest bedroom and as soon as we get it all set up in there I will post pictures.
4. I have been craving Mike and Ikes lately. But for some unknown reason I can not find them in a bag anywhere! Yeah I have tried 2 different Wal-Mart's (who I know have previously carried them), Target, and Publix. No such luck. Sad face for me.
5. Me and Wes saw the movie Jumper about a week and a half ago. Good movie.
6. I signed up for an informational session at church for a mission trip to Guatemala in December. They are going to be visiting an orphanage, and it sounds like a great experience. Like I said it is just for information right now. The only major concern I have is that I will hopefully be pregnant by then, and going to a foreign country in that condition is kind of scary. So we'll see.
7. We are on a mission to get a wireless router for our house. The current office will become the nursery when the time comes. We have DSL so a router is in order so we can get internet anywhere in the house. Looking forward to being able to surf the net and watch TV :)
8.
This is proof that my brother in law (who likes to act all cool) has a soft side for kiddos :)
9. My lunch as soon as I finish this will consist of ham roll ups...yum...a tortilla with cream cheese ranch spread ( cream cheese with a little bit of a ranch dressing mix mixed in) and deli ham all rolled up...my mouth is watering :)
10. Okay ten was hard to come up with today but I managed it. Happy Tuesday all!

Lost and Poopie in the Potty :)

It's Friday It's Friday! Yeah and it's raining...but that is okay because it's Friday :)
So yesterday was my mom's b'day so me and Wes went to eat with her and dad last night. We went back to their house afterwards and we are watching Lost...okay I have never been able to get into that show because it is confusing! And they confirmed for me that it was confusing last night because as the show was going on on the bottom of the screen there is this little box that keeps popping up explaining to you what is happening and why. Interesting.
Can I brag on Macy a minute? She is finally potty trained! Yeah!!! And she was wanting to call everyone and tell them....so my phone rings and Macy starts yelling Canhi (she doesn't pronounce the "d" yet) Canhi I poopie in the potty! And she starts clapping haha :) I am proud of her. She has the coolest little potty training toilet. It makes music every time she goes in it! I couldn't help but ask Susan though what happens when she starts to use a regular toilet...because they don't make music lol....I have this vision of Chris and Susan singing everytime she was to go in a regular toilet :) But Macy is loving this big girl thing. She got big girl Dora panties :) Susan is a little sad because she is growing up so fast. She said she wishes she could hold onto her just like this. I so wish they'd have another one but I think Macy is going to be it.
I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend. I have to go to Hanceville in the morning for a baby shower but that is it. Loving some relaxing weekends :) Happy Friday to all!

Time for The Ten

1. I'm going to brag on my dinner last night. Can we say good? It was grilled chicken that I had marinaded in one of those McCormick Grill Seasoning packs (the flavor was Garlic Herb Wine or something like that), twice baked potatoes, and a cucumber and tomato salad mixed in Italian dressing.

2. Our Valentines Day dessert...Strawberry tarimisu....Wes really enjoyed it...after I made it I didn't care for it much...

3. We have kittens on the way...I figure they will be born sometime in March. After Savannah is done weaning them she is getting snipped. The vet says she figures that she will only have 3-4 so my parents have agreed to take 2 and we will keep the other(s).
4. Springtime is almost here and for the McClanahan household that means some serious yard work.
5. I figured out that trying to assemble things with a man is very frustrating work. Wes bought a new cabinet a few weeks ago for the garage. We just got around to assembling it yesterday. Do you know how many times we would get something on there and have to take it off because Wes didn't read far enough into the directions and he had the wrong piece or he had forgotten to do something to it?
6. This winter hasn't been very kind to our electric bill.
7. Taxes are done...Yay!
8. I am going to my friend Ashley's baby shower this weekend. I love baby showers :)
9. I am in all out get my house organized mode. This place is going to fear my label maker :)
10. I'm working on something that I hope to premier soon to ya'll....so stay tuned :)
Happy Tuesday!

TGIF...this seems to have been a long week!

Does anyone else feel like this week has dragged?
Valentines went great. Me and Wes put a limit on each other because my hubby sometimes has the ability to be spend crazy and since there wasn't anything that I wanted I hated for him to spend tons of money on just anything you know?
He got me the movie Peter Pan because I am trying to collect Disney movies for future children. He also got me Elton John's number one's...rock out! I love Elton John especially the song Benny and the Jets. He also got me a book that he did research himself on (which impressed me entirely) called Parenting by the Book. It's a Christian parenting book, and that is important to both of us when it comes to future children. I hadn't heard of it, but I am looking forward to reading it as soon as I finish The Mother of All Pregnancy Books. Almost done with that one by the way and I have learned a ton! I think he did good for a $50 limit and absolutely no help from me on what I wanted :)
From me he got a much wanted MP3 player. Like he's been wanting once since summer. So he finally got it. He is one of those that has to study with music so it's perfect for him. I personally have to have complete silence when I study but whatever works for ya :)
Tonight we are going to Carabbas. So looking forward to it! It's usually our anniversary tradition, but since we are going to be at Disney World on our anniversary this year I asked to do it for Valentines Day.
No big plans this weekend. Gotta go help my mom with a few things tomorrow. Wes is off on Monday thanks to the presidents so we will get an extra day to spend together. We are trying to spend a lot of time together right now because starting March 17th he goes on outage. An outage means anywhere from 30-50 days of 7 days of week and 12 hours a day shifts. TVA has these outages at least twice a year. He'll be working the night shift for this spring outage so he'll be sleeping during the day...so yeah that means we won't be seeing much of each other. I remember the first TVA function we went to this past summer and one of the wives who's husband had been there for like 15 years told me and another one of the wives who's husband had started that we were now part of the TVA widows...kind of morbid but she meant that our husbands will be speding lots of time out at the plant. Wes of course knew this because his dad has worked for TVA the past 30 years.
Well I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Playing favorites

Okay so I need to get on my soapbox a little and rant.
Why do some parents play favorites? I mean obviously favor one child over the other? Why do that to children? My husband is a victim of this from his mom. My mother in law favors my brother in law over my husband and always has. Some examples:
**All of this is material things pretty much but still**
1. Take today...Zach's birthday....my husbands birthday is a couple of weeks before Christmas...so his stuff gets kinda blended together (which also bothers me). Zach got just as much stuff as Wes for Christmas and then today my mother in law is buying him a Wii for his b'day.
2. Wes got told he could only go to Northwest Shoals for college. For those of you that don't know Northwest Shoals is a community college in Muscle Shoals, which means that Wes had to stay at home to go to college. He wanted to go to UAH for engineering but his mom absolutely refused. Well Zach got to choose anywhere he wanted to go...and that is anywhere in the US not just Alabama...and as most of you know he goes to Auburn.
3. For graduation from High School Wes didn't get anything. For graduation from college, which came two weeks before Zach's high school graduation, he got a laptop, just a standard Toshiba. For Zach's high school graduation he got a Macbook, money, and a new Honda Civic.
4. Wes has never ever had a new car...his dad sells used vehicles on the side and Wes has always gotten whatever his dad had on hand, and then if hid dad sold it he just gave him the next thing there was. Heck Wes has never owned a car that has less than 100,000 miles on it.
5. I have been hearing from day one from my mother in law how Zach is so much more responsible, and book smart than Wes. Then she thinks that she is doing good by saying but Wes is good with mechanical things.
News Flash to my mother in law....your first born is just as smart as your second born....but you really screwed with his self esteem so much that he just didn't try anymore. And Wes is one of the most responsible people I know. Now don't get me wrong...I don't blame Zach for this....it's not his fault....it's my mother in laws. She doesn't think that she plays favorites, she has looked me in the face and said seriously that she treats her children the exact same. What a crock of bull. She is lucky that she didn't make her sons enemies to each other over this. Oh yeah I forgot to mention that when they were kids Wes was always the one who got into trouble if they fought, not Zach even if he started it. My mother in law's reason? Wes was bigger than Zach and he could hurt him. So what did she think would happen to Wes when Zach threw a GLASS pepsi bottle at his head? Yet again Mother in law says Well Wes must have did something to antagonize him.
I wish this were all me overreacting. You know what's so sad. Wes has gotten so used to this. He actually is pretty big person about it saying that he doesn't care. He might not, he might be used to it, but I am not! It's not about the material things to me. But I do think you should be as fair as possible with your children. I mean I am the baby of my family and I can honestly say my parents treated me and Chris the same. They spoiled us both.
Stepping off my soapbox now. Thanks for letting me rant.

Time for the Ten...Okay make that 5

1. Bought the Mother of All Pregnancy books last night and I am 150 pages into it. Loving it! I am finding out soo much that I either didn't know or was possibly misinformed about. I have just started the chapter where you just find out your preggers and what is going to happen. I have to admit that I kinda only skimmed over the infertility chapter only because that doesn't apply to me at this present time...but it doesn't mean I won't go back to it. I did read some of it however and it is definitely informative. I also like how the author puts some little humorous comments in there :) I found myself reading interesting tidbits out loud to Wes as I came across them.
2. Okay so I feel bad and am hoping that everyone has kinda gone through this. I'm trying to inform myself about breastfeeding and cloth diapering. I have to admit that I'm not totally enthused about it but I am willing to consider it. Of course I am not pregnant yet, but I want to do what is best for my baby. Was anyone else not so gung ho about it at first?
3. I must say that I love cookbooks that little old ladies from a church put together. Wes bought me one from a guy at work that was selling them and they have the good old fashioned cooking stuff in them. Yummy!
4. So I have never really been that big of a fan of Trading Spaces...I just can't seem to get into it for some reason. But the other day I was bored and they had this new kind of Trading Spaces on. The particular episode I watched was a mother in law and daughter in law trading living rooms...um yeah I would never do that! If my mother in law got ahold of my living room it would be mauve and home interior everywhere! That's fine for her but it's not my style at all! Trust me she's tried...I won't budge!
5. Today is my brother in law Zach's 20th birthday....Happy Birthday Zach!
Hope everyone has a fantastic Tuesday!

An embarrassing moment...first in awhile!

So uh yeah feeling like a fool right now. I will say though that it's not completely my fault...but it is. So I left earlier to run some errands....setting the alarm on the way out. Gone for about an hour. Come home and all I could think about was my lunch. Let's just say I forgot completely about the alarm.
Well about 10 minutes after I get home my cell phone starts ringing. It's my mom. ADT had just called her at work saying our house alarm was going off and they couldn't get ahold of us. I was like Huh? I am standing in my living room, no alarm is going off. And noone had tried to call the house either. Then I remembered I had set the alarm before I left...and I hadn't disarmed it when I came in...but what was weird is that nothing was going off...it is not a silent alarm....but it was going off at the adt center...so I think we have a messed up box at the house. But they had told mom they called our house and noone answered but that part isn't true because our phone didn't ring once and we have caller id and it wasn't on there either. So I am confused. I am going to call ADT to tell them about our malfunctioning box. And I am also going to check to see that they have our home number right. They asked my mom if they should call the police and she told them she'd call them back because she didn't know if it was for real or not. I told her next time to tell them to call the police. Better be safe than sorry.
Next time I'll try to remember I had set it. But still if the box had been working right then I would have known. Oh well :)

There is nothing like......

getting woken up at 3am by the tornado sirens! Next my telephone is ringing and it's my mom telling us to get up because according to the radar bad weather was heading our way! So me and Wes and Savannah spent the next hour in the master bed closet with the radio and pillows and blankets. Fun times. Poor Wes still had to get up and go to work at 5:30 so I bet he is tired today. Hopefully tonight will be more peaceful.

10 on Tuesday

1. I cannot seem to shake this stupid cold!
2. Run Run as fast as you can to the theaters to see 27 dresses! Possibly one of the best movies ever!
3. I think Savannah my kitty is preggers.
4. I'm not a huge NFL watcher but I did watch the Superbowl. That was a really good game.
5. I think I am going to check out Dave Ramsey's stuff.
6. Auburn plays there A-Day game on March 29 so of course I am wanting to go. Wes can't go because he will be in an outage at work at that time...50 straight days of 7/12's. My brother in law said I could go down with him. He is co-oping this semester so he isn't currently down there. But he told me I could go with him to it. I want to but I also don't want to cramp his style lol :)
7. We officially booked our Disney vacation. June 28-July3. Can't wait!
8. We rented the movie The Comebacks on Friday. Um yeah...not really worth it.
9. I have decided that if my first child is a boy that we are going to do the nursery in a vintage football theme...using Auburn and Tennessee stuff since we are a house divided...and yes this idea came from me not my hubby....weird huh :)
10. Trying to figure out Valentine's plans. It's next week!
Getting 10 today was rough. Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

A few photos for Friday

First of all Wes' new pride and joy...yet I can't really get a great picture of it. hehe don't you just love those kind of commercials that is displayed here...

Next is my cross stitching project..however it is really hard to tell what I have done...like I said the pattern is already there I am just filling it in...I have the whole border completed except for outlining so I am excited about that. It's a good boredom activity for me.

And finally I caught Savannah sticking her tongue out!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
