Thursday Thoughts

1. Okay so I found this article and I found it highly interesting. I don't really think this guy knows what he is talking about but whatever....to each his own. But really ranking Auburn worse than LSU and Bama? I'm not so sure about that. And what about those obnoxious cow bells Mississippi State uses? Read it, it's interesting.

http://www.ajc.com/blogs/content/shared-blogs/ajc/bradley/entries/2008/08/21/ranking_obnoxious_sec_football.html

2. Football starts tonight! Even though it's not officially fall...football season kicks off fall for me!
3. I'm so ready for 3pm tomorrow to get here. That is when Wes gets off work and we have a three day weekend together!
4. We watched the movie Stop Loss the other night. It was really really good.
5. I'm going yard saleing early Saturday morning. Then we are going to hang out at my parents Saturday and cook out.
6. So long story short on this credit card mess, the company has denied our claim because of 2 things. One the supposedly the statute of limitations has run out. Two they say I am negligent because I didn't catch it before I did. Well we talked to a lawyer in B'ham and hard to explain but I don't feel comfortable with this whole situation of the lawyers. They didn't really want to hear the whole story, they were dismissing important points, and they seem to want to nail it for all it's worth. I don't agree with the statute of limitations thing, but I can't help but feel like I am negligent since I didn't catch it. Right now there is a balance of a little less than 5,000 dollars that the thief ran up. Me and Wes feel like we would just be better off to pay that, than running the risk of this balance running up due to interest/late fees while we pursued this court thing, along with lawyers fees and court cost. We honestly don't feel like we could win, and we don't feel comfortable with the way the lawyers want to handle it. It doesn't feel honest. Wes dad is pushing us to take this to court. Wes' mom understands where we are coming from and agrees with us. Wes' dad thinks we should be compensated for our "suffering" his words. I am not out for money, I just want this taken care of so we can get our life back on track. This is causing a fight between Wes' parents because Wes' mom thinks that Wes' dad worships money. It's a huge mess!
7. Ya'll may be wondering why Wes' parents are putting their input in this. Well to make matters even more complicated the thief of our card also got my inlaws bank account number (which we had written down in our files along with the cards because my mother in law had Wes order something for Zach at one point and gave him the info for that purpose). The thief was using my inlaws account to pay a balance on the card each month. So we were paying, and the thief was stealing from my inlaws as well. My inlaws bank says that it was my inlaws fault that they should have checked their checking statments each month and so my inlaws bank refuses to give back my inlaws money. Confused yet?
8. So point in case, we are all out money (as in us and Wes parents are out some money I just realized that made it sound like we were broke...not the case), but as I have told Wes...I want my problem fixed pronto because not only are we out money it is screwing with my credit. So see why I am so stressed? I think that just paying this will lower my stress level. I don't want to screw my credit up...my score is 768 and I have worked hard for that. I don't want some idiot messing it up. I know that it lets the thief win, but the card is closed, no other accounts have been opened, we now have an id theft program, all our bank accounts have been changed, and we have learned a huge lesson. So now I just want my life back.
9. Me and mom are having a garage sale at her house the first weekend of October.
10. Wes starts another outage October 27th. So he'll be back on nights again for that time period. It is supposed to last 25 days but I have learned with TVA that nothing is as short as they say. I'm just hoping that it is over with by the first of December because we have my cousins wedding the 6th and I want to be able to go on his birthday outing the following weekend.

Okay sorry guys I know this turned out long! If you made it to the end then kudos :)

Just a clarification :)

My post from two days ago stated that we were starting cycle number four. I appreciate your thoughts and prayers but I also don't want ya'll thinking I am depressed over it. I understand that it can take a while. I wouldn't want anyone to think that I am complaining that it hasn't happened yet. I wouldn't do that because I know it takes some a long time. It could take me a long time. I am fighting against endometriosis and only having one fallopian tube. That was my whole point of the statement before it. I know this will happen when God intends for it to happen and not before then. I am not going to lie and say that I don't have a little bit of disappointment that it hasn't happened yet, because it is a little disappointing but I just know that it will happen when it's supposed to.
Okay I just wanted to clear that up. I'll take all the prayers I can get don't get me wrong, but I just wanted to make sure that ya'll know I am okay with this. Any depressed vibes comes strictly from this credit card crap. But we are gaining some ground on it so things are looking up :)
Happy Hump Day all! Only two more days until a three day weekend!

10 on Tuesday

So I know my post yesterday might have shown some stress and unhappiness. I have had a rough few weeks, only because when it rains it pours you know? BUT I have decided that I am not going to let the devil rain on my parade :) So this is my happier version of a 10 on Tuesday.

1. It's a three day weekend this upcoming weekend which means Wes is home with me :)
2. My kitties are such entertainment during the day for me. They do all sorts of kooky wacky things.
3. My friend Kara made my day the other day by giving me this gorgeous stained glass butterfly garden stake. She said it was my thank you for babysitting her son so she could get some of her art stuff done. It is really pretty. She makes some of the prettiest stained glass things. I have a really pretty piece hanging on my kitchen window that she made for me for my birthday.
4. Next Monday is the season premier of One Tree Hill. That is by far my guilty pleasure show.
5. I am picking out my wood floors this Saturday. They will be installed in 3 weeks. I am very ready for them.
6. I am making (correction sewing) these really cute fall and Christmas felt pillows.
7. After Labor day my cute fall decorations get to make their appearance.
8. It's almost time for pumpkins! My mouth is salivating at all the yummy pumpkin desserts to be made.
9. I can't wait until the weekend of December 12-14. That is the weekend after Wes birthday and we are going to Nashville to spend the night at the Opryland Hotel and look at all the gorgeous lights, and go Christmas shopping at Opry Mills. Oh and we are also going to the Melting Pot! Yumm-O!
10. We got our tickets to Big Spring Jam this past weekend. I'm so excited. Chris Cagle is going to be there! And Blake Shelton. And Sister Hazel and so many many more!

Okay off to fix me some lunch. Happy Tuesday all!

I have officially handed it all over to God!

I am tired of wondering about a lot of things and so I am just handing it over to God and trusting that things will work out like HE means them to be. I have accepted that it may or may not be what I want, and that he knows exactly what he is doing. I am going to go about my life, try to relax more, and appreciate more. I am going to quit being so selfish and try to become the person that some people already think I am. God has blessed my life so much in these last few years and I feel that I am unworthy of it, yet I am eternally grateful for EVERYTHING he has given me.

A few things going on in my life right now:
1. Most of ya'll know we are trying for baby #1...we are beginning our 4th cycle today.
2. We are fighting with Bank of America over this ID theft that I have had happen to me. They are trying to say my statute of limitations has run out, so we are dealing with a lawyer out of Birmingham. This has caused a large amount of stress in my life because this is messing with my credit and also talking about a large sum of money.

I hope everyone has a great week. I'm just hoping that this week is better, after the last few weeks we have had.

I've been tagged

monica has tagged me to do this meme!
I must reveal six unspectacular quirks about myself and challenge other bloggers to do the same.

The rules are:
1. Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Mention the rules.
3. Tell six unspectacular quirks of yours.
4. Tag six bloggers by linking.
5. Leave a comment for each blogger.

1) In order every night before I go to bed I have to take my contacts out, wash my face, brush my teeth, and take my vitamin. I can not be misdirected from this routine.

2) I eat my french fries before my hamburger.

3) I can't sleep with any of my jewelery on except my studs that I keep in my second holes in my ears.

4) I don't know how to do a cartwheel.

5) As some of you may or may not know I had a brother that was born in between me and Chris. He passed away of SIDS at 4 months old, so I of course never knew him. We shared the same birthday though. His was 6/23/77 and mine is 6/23/80. His name was Matthew Craig Hancock, so his initials were MCH, my name before marriage was Candice Michelle Hancock, initials CMH. Now Macy has the initials MCH as well because her name is Macy Claire Hancock. I find this interesting.

6) I have always lived near the Tennessee river but I have never been fishing.

So I am tagging:

A/C is fixed!

Turns out it was a coil that allowed freon to pass through to the compressor. Well this little coil wasn't letting it get through and so the compressor was overheating. This was either a manufacturers defect or a person who didn't install it right causing it to burn up. Don't know. But my cousin fixed it, we had to pay a labor fee and all is well now, and cool :) But I have learned that no matter what A/C fixes are just not cheap. It is probably one of the most expensive things in a house to fix.
I find it funny that at Dave Ramsey on Sunday night we were talking about the importance of an emergency fund and to expect the unexpected and ka-blam broken A/C! Another example is in our first month of marriage the alternator went out on my car, twice, and Wes had to have the breaks replaced on his vehicle. That was a short money first month of marriage. That taught me the law of Murphy :)
So now I am off to bed in my nice cool house again! Happy Hump Day!

Our A/C is messed up!

I am not a happy camper right now. A/C was working fine last night but this morning it was hot in here. By 4pm it was 83 degrees in this house!
I'm perturbed because my house is one year old hence the unit is one year old. But I know these things can happen.
Luckily my cousin Brian is owns his on HVAC business so he will be making a stop at my house tomorrow. The unit is under warranty thank goodness.
But man it is going to be a long night...I can't usually sleep when it's hot. I'll have to try though :)

My 10 on Almost Tuesday

It'll be Tuesday in about 17 minutes so close enough!

1. Dave Ramsey was totally great the first night! I will do a post on it eventually, but I am getting sleepy so it'll have to wait.
2. I am so sick of some of the jerks that Wes works with. I'm usually pretty easy going, but these guys are just plain jerks. And totally unprofessional. I'll be glad when Feb rolls around and he is out in the plant and not in the training center with these (insert any four letter word you want).
3. I love my parents I really do. They do a lot for me and usually support anything I do. But it seems lately they are so set in their ways and so I am having to somewhat censor some things I tell them.
4. I am counting down the days till September 1st. That Monday night at 8pm I'll be glued to the t.v. for my one guilty pleasure show's season premier. One Tree Hill....I can't wait to see who Lucas picked...my hopes are on Brooke.
5. It seems like late at night my cats go ballistic. They become totally playful at that time and unfortunately that results in them being LOUD.
6. I have a cute little picture project I am working on for our bedroom. Once I get it done I'll post a picture.
7. I've been craving lasagna lately. I'm heading to the grocery store in the morning so I believe that will be on the menu this week.
8. The crafting bug has consumed me lately. Lots of projects going on. They will be displayed on here eventually :)
9. In September we are heading to two football games...one Auburn and one Tennessee. The Tennessee game is for Wes. I figured he has been excellent with me about the Auburn games so I want to give him something back.
10. November 15th I am throwing my cousin Ashley a lingerie shower. I am calling it a Naughty and Nice shower and using black (naughty) and pink (nice) for the color scheme. We are going to play all the fun, crazy games and have a good ol time :) I'm also thinking of hiring this lady out of B'ham to come teach belly dancing. I think that would be so neat!

It is officially one minute till midnight....oops the clock turned over :) So officially Happy Tuesday all!

The Only Time this will happen

They actually look like they like each other!
Happy Thursday all!

10 on Tuesday

1. Last night we had a FREE dinner at Mac's Steakhouse here in Athens. There was a catch in that we had to listen to a spill about a product that would help to lower our utility bill. But free is free right? The funny part was there were about 20 couples there...and me and Wes and another couple were by far the youngest there. The rest were pretty much retired seniors. The man next to Wes asked him if he felt strange sitting there with a bunch of old people lol.
2. My LAST semester of grad school starts the 25th of this month!
3. Auburn football kicks off in 18 days! War Eagle!
4. I am a huge fan of 1-800-Pet-Meds. We get the kitties Advantage for so much cheaper there than at the vet.
5. My friend Kara's son Ryland is turning one in a few days and we have his b'day party to go to. So I gotta figure out what to get him.
6. Wes found out his first old high school buddy is going to be a daddy in March. This is a major step for his old friends lol.
7. My sewing is coming along nicely :)
8. I'm going golfing Saturday with Wes and my brother in law Zach. Okay so I think I'll be riding in the golf cart while they golf but still.
9. I've been helping my in laws flip a house. It's definitely a lot of work. It's Wes grandmothers house that they are fixing to put on the market. But at least I have learned a few handy home improvement skills.
10. We have found 2 black widow spiders around our house in the past week! Talk about scary. The bug man found the first one last week when he sprayed and then Wes found the second one when he mowed the lawn last Thursday. I'm not scared of spiders in general but the thought of black widows scare the crap out of me. The bug man said they are all over the place this year. Nice! I don't want to get afraid to walk around my house!
Happy Tuesday all!!

Dave Ramsey

We are starting the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University at our church next Sunday night. We went to a preview session tonight and I can officially say I am pumped up! We mainly wanted to do this for saving purposes but I'm really excited about the whole program.
I think it will be cool to say we are overall debt free. I know we will have a house payment but I am going to be glad to not have any credit card debt. Fortunately we don't have very much of that at all. But after all this crazy identity theft issue with my card, me and Wes are pretty much over the whole credit card thing.
We are in agreement that the house that we live in is our starter house and we plan on selling it in 3-4 years. So due to that we know that we won't pay off this house. But I'll say again it will be nice to know that we don't have to pay credit card debt :)
I'm ready to begin. Seeing the preview video was exciting. We get our kit next week too and since we are doing it through our church we got a discount on it. Whoo hoo can't beat that.
So here's to yelling "I'm debt free!!"

This is one reason why the SEC is the BEST football conference in the nation

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=forde_pat&id=3510808&sportCat=ncf

Enough said!

10 on Thursday...The Wednesday Night edition

1. Wes got a speeding ticket going to Kentucky. 96 in a 70....yeah so now there is a nice 161 dollar ticket to pay.
2. Went and saw the Dark Knight last Saturday...very very good. Man Heath Ledger did an excellent job as the Joker.
3. At that same movie Wes accidentally left his debit card at a table in the arcade center...didn't realize it till we were paying for our dinner bill at Red Lobster after the movie...luckily someone honest turned it in to the managers office and it was returned to us, no harm done.
4. I officially know how to sew now! Yippee! My first project? Curtains!
5. I like to cook, but not in the summer. Just too hot!
6. It is official that this fall we will be ripping up ALL the carpet in our house and putting in hardwood. But before we do that we are getting the entire inside of the house painted...except for the room that will someday be a nursery. I don't want that one done yet because it will be painted to go with the room.
7. I am also teaching myself how to crochet. It's a slow progress.
8. I am in love with the Happy Cow cheese. Yummo!
9. I am addicted to this word game on Yahoo Games called Text Twist...it is my boredom passer.
10. Ready for Labor Day weekend...first the Auburn game...then on to Atlanta!
Happy Thursday ya'll!
