It's Monday

Well my kitchen became a finished paint project Sunday afternoon thanks to my fantabulous husband. But as I said before the rest of the house will be hired done. No more painting for me. Some of my frustration for it was due though because the lady at Lowes put way too much thinner in the first batch making it to thin on my walls...hence us having to go buy another gallon yesterday to finish it out so there was no shadows on the walls. Part of the problem was to my not priming it first...did not realize I needed to...I am afterall a novice to the painting world :) But the other problem was said Lowes woman. Oh well it is a finished product now.
Saturday morning our front yard got its first mowing. Fun times pushing the lawnmower up the hill we call a front yard. Wes was pooped! Our back yard is still in the process of growing grass so we will not have to mow it till next year but I am sure Wes can't wait till he has to mow the massive piece of land back there. I give it 5 years and I'll have him wanting to move back into the city :)
We have our family reunion up at Tim's Ford State Park in Tennessee this weekend. Should be fun times. I'll get to meet my newest baby cousin Emily for the first time. She was born June 4th. I am spending my week getting the games ready..I'm not sure how I got this job bestowed unto me but I have got some good ideas.
Me and Wes saw the Simpson's movie Friday night. My recommendation is wait and rent it on video. It had some funny parts but overall it wasn't worth a movie ticket price. It also let a few words slip and a few scenes slip that should have made it an "R" rated film rather than "PG-13" I am not sure some people would agree with my recommendation on waiting to see it though because I heard it brought in $71 million dollars over the weekend.
Wes' grandma is not doing so good. His mom told us on Saturday that the doctor at the nursing home she is in said that Grandma's body was shutting down. She has Alzhimer's. So Wes' mom said it was just a matter of time. Lot's of prayers are going up for the family.
Well that's my weekend wrap up. Hope all of you had a great one, and have a great week!

A learning experience....

Ok so now I wonder whose bright idea it was to do the painting myself? Wes would tell you me and I can not tell a lie...he'd be right. Why oh Why?? They make it look so easy on all the house shows.
I am undertaking the kitchen. I have chosen a soft yellow color. It is supposed to match the yellow in my handtowels and rugs. Um...well its a little brighter. Second of all I have only got 75% of it completed at the moment because frankly I am TIRED!! It is going to take a second coat and I am not looking forward to that. I am trying to decide if I like it before I do that second coat. If I don't then I guess it's primer time and I'll choose another color. I think this will be my last paint it myself home project :) I think for the living room and hall and the guest bedroom and our bedroom and in the future the office when it becomes a nursery and the second bath I will hire it done. Well you never know till you try and it might seem easy to some but to me it has been a pain in the butt! :)
Tonight we are having date night and since my kitchen is unfunctionable Wes is taking me out to dinner. To where I have no clue...but I'm sure it'll be good :) Then we are going to the The Simpson's movie. His pick, but it is a small thing I can do because I drug him to the latest Harry Potter :)
Have a great weekend everyone!

A 2 year olds Birthday party...

can leave one exhausted :) But we had a lot of fun. I got some cute pictures. Susan's little sister (she's 21 :) ) dressed up like Dora for the kids and took then on an adventure. Macy got lots of cool stuff. I think she owns some stock in Little Tikes. Her backyard is an endorsement for them :)
I was sad though because at the end of the day I was going to hand my camera to Wes because I was going to jump in the big bouncer with Macy and boom my camera hit the ground with the lense still out. Yep it broke. So today I am having to call Sony and find out what my warranty can do. It is bad timing though because I have two things coming up in the next couple of weeks that I really wanted to take pictures of. Wes has a camera/video camera that is ok...it's better with videos than pictures. Maybe we'll get it fixed in time. So here you go for some viewing enjoyment a 2 year old's Dora the Explorer birthday party.

It was a great day :) I am slipping in two more shameless pictures. The first is of me and Wes on our first anniversary. The second is of my praying kitty Peaches...I caught her playing with a cord and it looks as if she is praying(with her eyes open that is :) )

Okay sorry for so many pics...it's just been a while :) Coming soon pics of my house. First though I got to get my camera fixed :) Happy Monday all!

I am officially back in the blogging world!

Do you know where I am right this very minute?? I am sitting in my office at my house on my own computer...with ta da my very own internet connection! After 7 long weeks without an internet connection and having to go to my parents to get it I am back.
Lots is going on. We are in the midst of painting and as soon as the painting is finished I will post pictures. Our house is slowly becoming our "home."
Today I spent the morning at a nuclear power plant. Sounds fun doesn't it haha. Actually TVA Browns Ferry was having a celebration picnic for its employs for the successful restart of Unit One so me and Wes got to go. Free stuff and free food you can't beat that. It came upon a thunderstorm while we were there and let me tell you underneath all those wires is not the best place for a thunderstorm. We retreated to safety but overall had a good time.
Tomorrow is my niece Macy's second birthday party. Her actual birthday was yesterday but her party is tomorrow. She is having a Dora birthday so you know I'll have lots of pictures. I can't believe she is two already...before I know it she'll be in school!! I am silently laughing because her Aunt Candi and Uncle Wes got her a huge picnic table that hahahaha my big brother has to put together :) I'd better be careful though because he can pay me back real good later.
I have one final thing to say....at 12:01 AM the book I have been waiting months for comes out...Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I can't wait! We went and saw Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix last Friday night and I do believe thus far that is the best one yet. It actually follows the book pretty dang close. And it was action packed! I am one who still firmly believes that the book is way better than a movie any day though :)
Have a great weekend everyone and it's good to be back!

Okay once again it won't let me post a title...so here is my own title.

Ten on Tuesday
I haven't done one of these in a while so here goes.

1. August needs to get here because my cell phone is on its last hoorah and I am elgible to get a new one then.

2. Another cell phone goodie...as a TVA worker Wes gets 17% off of our Verizon phone bill. YES!! Finally I can get that bill reduced!

3. I am totally lovin my kitty Peaches. She is an exciting adventure and is a cutie pa tootie!

4. I am all ready for Sunday to get here. We are having a spaghetti symposium at church. It is to get our small groups program started.

5. Tomorrow "Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix" come to theatres near me :) However I have to wait till Friday to see it due to my hubby being out of town and he would never forgive me for seeing it without him.

6. July 21st is the day I can pick up my new copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I am feeling bittersweet about the end of the series. Can you tell I am a gigantic fan? :)

7. I have reflected a lot on friendship lately and I am going to work harder on being a better friend. I always heard the saying "To have a friend you have to be a friend." It is so true.

8. My parents got me a new Bible and a book on how to read the Bible on your own for my birthday. I am reading the how to book first, and so far it is telling me that I can read the entire Bible in three years by reading for 15 minutes a day. I am so looking forward to doing that and learning and growing.

9. I love my niece Macy. She came and stayed at my parents last weekend so me and Wes came over to play. She is so much fun. I have finally gotten her to say "Candi" although it sounds more like "Canhi" but hey it's all good to me. She says Wes like "Vesssss!" She literally drags out the s. It is funny. She likes to tell everyone to come on. Like she calls my dad Pop, and she'll say Come on Pop! Come on! I can't believe that little booger is going to be 2 on the 19th of this month. She is getting a Dora the Explorer party because she loves Dora!

10. I am highly considering just subbing this school year and going to school for my masters full time. Wes wants me to finish up with that before we have babies and the babies will be happening anywhere for hopefully 18months to 2 years from now. I have three classes under my belt already. I am really praying about this endeavor. Part of me loves the thought of it. I would have classes three days a week and if I had a subbing job the other two then cool if not then yay a day off. I know that God will lead me to the best decision. I have to make it in the next two weeks.

Happy Tuesday all!

Hey guys updates updates updates!
First Wes started his new job today. He is in Chatanooga till Thursday for orientation and I talked to him a minute ago and his first day went fabulously. I tell you that boy can make friends with a shoe :) He's loving it so far.
Second I am spending the week at my parents house because frankly I didn't want to stay alone at our house. Speaking of our house we got the master bath painted and up next it's the first guest room. I will post pics soon I promise.
Third our first anniversary was the first of July and we celebrated at Carrabba's because we at there on our honeymoon before we left Miami to catch the ship. It was yummy and I have a pic of that as well but I forgot to bring my cord to transfer it onto the computer so that will be there soon as well. I got Wes a book on anything and everything home projects and he got my Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which I now am going to have the full set. Hey it stuck with the Paper theme which is traditional first anniversary gifts.
Fourth we still don't have any internet. I have learned a lot about being one of the first houses on a new street. It takes a lot longer to get things :) Hopefully within the next two weeks though we will have it!
Well that's about it for now. The next time I will probably get a chance to write I will have pics of the house and some pics from my neice's second birthday which is the 19th....gosh I can't believe she is already two! Time flies!
I miss you guys! Have a happy week!
P.S. I don't know why but blogger won't let me post a title so hence no title if it doesn't show :)
