1. I had a happy meal last night for dinner. A cheeseburger happy meal. There was a teenage guy working the drive thru...he just laughed when he saw an adult getting a happy meal. I don't care it was good :)
2. I have two baby showers to go to this month. So I am making two diaper cakes. I got the stuff last night....will start on them today. Will post pics when they are done on my other blog.
3. When it is that time of month I crave chocolate. That is about the only time I want chocolate.
4. Today is April Fools....here is hoping noone pulls one on me :)
5. We are going to Atlanta Memorial Day weekend for my cousin Stefanie's high school graduation. Wes has never been to the actual city...just to the airport. I know we are going to check out the World of Coke and the aquarium. If the Braves are in town I think we will catch a game.
6. Less than three months till our Disney trip. I'm getting very excited!
7. So we got our flower beds completely ripped out last weekend. Friday we will be tilling up the ground and putting in new edgers and shrubs. Towards the middle of April I will plant some flowers. Got to wait till the threat of frost goes away.
8. I bought Wes a new pair of tennis shoes last night. He was in desperate need of a new pair.
9. Wes downloaded and burned onto a DVD all 8 seasons of That 70's show for me. That is by far one of my most favorite shows ever!
10. I found these really cool bubble wands at Walmart last week for a dollar apiece! They are huge and they blow huge bubbles. I got two of them to give to Macy. She loves bubbles :)
Happy Tuesday everyone!!

Crazy Laws in Alabama!
www.crazylaws.com
Check it out.
Some of my faves:
1. Boogers may not be flicked into the wind.
2.Men may not spit in front of members of the opposite sex. How chivalrous!
3. You can not chain your alligator to a fire hydrant.
4. Women are able to retain all property owned prior to marriage in the event of a divorce. This however is not true for men.
5. You must have windshield wipers on your car at all times. Now what car doesn't?
And some of these I was like what the crap????
1. Incestuous marriages are legal.
2. Jasper: It is illegal for a husband to beat his wife with a stick larger in diameter than his thumb.
3. Slavery is still legal in Decatur, Alabama. This can't possibly be true!!!
Anyways check it out...other states are on there as well. Some are definitely funny! And some of them are like WHAT??

As promise earlier...A funny story about Macy
Okay now granted at the time it probably wasn't very funny to mom, Macy, Chris, and Susan, but when mom told me about it a week later she was laughing so I guess it's one of those We'll laugh about this later moments.
Macy is being potty trained. Overall it's going great. Well a couple of Saturday's ago Mom and Dad went to visit Macy. She had just gotten up from a nap. Susan asked her if she needed to go potty. She said no. Now Macy is VERY full of energy (she gets that from my brother) so whenever we go visit her she has too take you around and show you everything and she wants you to do everything she does. Kinda like follow the leader. After she grows tired of that she settles down. Well she wanted Nana (mom) to read with her. So she crawls up into the recliner with mom and mom said she (Macy) was wedged in there lol. So Macy is "reading" to mom and she all the sudden gets very quiet. That is very UN-Macy like. Mom told me she was like Uh-oh something's wrong. Well all of the sudden mom's pant legs were warm and wet! Macy was peeing all over herself and mom!! Mom couldn't jump up or anything because Macy was wedged in there so all she could do was wait till she had finished. Mom said pee was everywhere and that she had to take off her pants to wash and dry them before they went home lol. I told her well I guess it's a grandma's right of passage to be peed on by your first grandchild :)
I figure that Macy got so excited about Pop and Nana being there that she forgot she needed to pee. Chris and Susan learned an important lesson that day...don't ask if she needs to pee when she gets up from a nap just take her to the potty :)

10 on Tuesday
1. I am loving our new wireless router. Now I can just move my laptop and work on it wherever I want in the house.
2. My friend Ashley is due any day now with her little girl Kadence Brooke.
3. My sister in law's sister Regina welcomed her second little girl into the world on March 6th. My mom could not remember what she named her however.
4. I am sitting here typing this and watching the game show network. Let's make a Deal is on circa 1970 something. The fashion then is well I'll just say interesting lol.
5. We have a baby shower to go to on April 5th...it's co-ed so that will be a first for me to go to a co-ed baby shower. It's for Danielle a childhood friend of Wes' that i inherited with marriage lol :) I got her her bathtub, hooded towels, and washcloths off her registry. I am going to add some baby necessities to it and then I got her a pillowcase dress that is showcased on my other blog and some cute burpcloths off of Etsy that I am still waiting on.
6. I haven't been having to cook much dinner lately since Wes is on this outage. I just have to fix something for him to take to work with him. So that means I only have to cook for myself. So I am resorting back to my college days style of eating. You know easy stuff like pasta roni, grilled cheese, etc. Sometimes my dinner is cereal. One of my faves lately is carrot sticks with a light ranch dressing.
7. I am ready to get to work outside. I plan on later this week digging in the flower beds. I want to wait till it gets back to the 70 degrees that we had a few weeks ago. Supposedly that is happening later this week. It's supposed to rain Saturday :( .
8. I really enjoy buying baby gifts. They are so much fun to buy!
9. I bought a baby gift for an old sorority sister who I haven't seen in forever but she is due with a little girl in April as well. My friend Jennifer (who doesn't like this girl very much) said I shouldn't bother with it since all the girl wants is gifts. But I feel like if I get an invite to a baby shower, and I can't attend, that I should send something to them. So I did. That was about a month ago. I still haven't got any word from her that she received it. So maybe Jennifer was right about her. I'll just chalk it up to she's busy. But I do believe that if you receive a gift that you should let the giver know you received it.
10. Kohl's always has the best sales. I scored on some really cute shirts there Saturday.
Happy Tuesday all and congrats on making it through my random ramblings :)

Feeling a little disheartened....Family Issues
So today I went to Jasper with my parents for decoration and Easter dinner with my family. (Wes had to work tonight so he stayed home to sleep). It was a kind of mixed feelings day. Here is the scoop....sorry in advanced for the longness.
Okay so back in November I found out that my sixteen (well he just turned 17 in Dec) year old cousin Will had gotten his girlfriend pregnant. It was a big drama filled episode. (Short side of things his mama is a crazy lunatic). It has really tore up my Aunt Betty who is Will's grandma. Anyway long story short, Will wanted to get married now...but both of them still have a year of high school left, and pretty much all BUT his mom were objecting that. Yeah think no jobs, no education, um no money....so now they are waiting to get married after they graduate (that is if they make it). Well today they were talking about a baby shower...she is due May 30...and the idea of having one major shower...with all families involved was brought up. You know what my cousin said? No we don't want one big shower...we want separate showers so we can get more stuff! I seriously was just stunned. To top this off he brought the girlfriend around and introduced her to everyone and when he said This is so and so and we'd say hi nice to meet you she'd just look at us and not say a word. Nice huh? And finally to top things off completely I found out today that Will's mom was mad at the family because at Christmas we weren't all excited for her about being a new grandma and we didn't make a big deal out of it....well maybe we are wrong but I'm sorry but your sixteen year old son getting a girl pregnant is not something to be praised for in my opinion.
Okay drama part two. Some of you might have heard me talking about my cousin Ashley when growing up. I think Lauren has met her. Well Ashley is my Aunt Betty (yes the same Aunt Betty)'s granddaughter. She is 18 and a senior in high school. Well she got engaged a few days before Christmas to her boyfriend Curt who is 22. I know that doesn't sound so bad but here is the deal. She is getting married next December. So that means no college after high school. (She has been doing some duel enrollment at a local community college down there but I am not sure if she is finishing it) Curt has no college. Heck he just recently got a job but I'm not sure how great it is. He is her first ever real boyfriend. They have that kind of romance where they follow each other around all the time and you never see one with out the other. Example...if she goes to the bathroom he follows her and stands outside the door. In my opinion not very realistic.
His dad bought her engagement ring, not him. And it's pretty big. At Christmas she made the comment out of my earshot but not out of the earshot of my dad that her ring was a lot bigger than mine. My dad being my dad said Well if Wes' father had bought Candi's ring then I'm sure she would have had a massive one. Lol I had to thank my dad for that one.
Okay now you know the background of the story. Now I have always been really close to my cousin Dina who is Ashley's mom. So today I was asking about wedding plans how they were going etc. Well I kept getting the cold shoulder on it. Dina was acting like she didn't want to talk about it. I tried a few times and then finally gave up and went outside to talk to some other family. Later on I came in and overheard her talking about it to others. I don't know why this hurt my feelings but it did. I just felt kinda put off.
Also yet another cousin (sorry I have a big family) who is also graduating this year got accepted into Brigham Young and she was super excited about it. So yeah she was talking about it today. I was really disappointed in how Ashley acted towards her about it. When Stefanie announced her news Ashley just snorted, and walked out with Curt in tow. No congratulations or anything. She was raised better than that. It's like since she has been with Curt she has gotten so well snotty. It was Ashley's decision to get married out of high school, no one is forcing her. She could have easily went to college. She chose this. So don't begrudge your own family their achievement.
Okay if you have made it through this thank you. I'm sorry it was so long! I just had to get that off my chest. It was just kinda a disappointed feeling day. I hope all of you had a happy Easter!
PS.....Congrats to Colleen, John, and Mr. Dash Dixon....he was Mr. May for the Decatur Daily's Easter Babies on Parade :) Also later this week and incredibly funny story about Macy :)

Yeah for Spring!
It's Easter weekend! This week was also the start of spring. I see signs of it everywhere :) Yesterday I saw a baby horse and it's mama running in the pasture. (a nice perk of living outside city limits). The Bradford Pears are blooming and so are the Dogwoods...although not the ones in our front yard...they are still babies and I hope they made it through the winter.
This weekend is decoration where my grandparents and brother are buried. It's a family tradition to go there and then have lunch at my aunts house. Unfortunately Wes can't go this year because of his outage so he will be sleeping Sunday. Blah. This outage has only been going on a week and I am already ready for it to be over.
I hope everyone has a happy Easter and a great weekend :)

Disclaimer: I deleted the picture. I really don't know what I was thinking actually putting it out there. I guess I was so surprised someone had actually created that thing that I just did it without thinking. My apologies for my lack of judgment....

Another Great Etsy Find
So yeah I am an etsy addict. I found this shop today and these are some of the most adorable pillowcase dresses ever! And they are a great price! I ordered two, one for Macy, and one for my friend Danielle who is expecting a baby girl in June. I got hers so the baby can wear it next summer.
addyclairesboutique
So if you know someone with a little girl or you have one yourself (Roz, Patrice :) ) then head over and check out her shop.
Happy Wednesday all!

I'm Doing my Ten Early (as in Monday night :) )
1. I'm so excited for my new kittens. Savannah is a really good momma cat.
2. I really want more of ya'll to check on my blog Instructions Not Included :) I think Colleen is the only one who does :) I don't post on it everyday but since ya'll have conceived or are trying or looking at trying I tend to put thoughts of interest up there :)
3. Wes started his outage last night and it is going to take some getting used to on his not being here over night and at home during the day trying to sleep. This only goes on till May 3rd thank goodness but still.
4. On that note I am amazed at how much safer I feel with having an alarm system. I HATE staying by myself....absolutely despise it but it's going to have to happen occasionally. But having our alarm system gives me a sense of security and I am very grateful for it.
5. Tomorrow I'm taking the Alero for a oil change at Wal-Mart. It'll probably be her last in a while because she is going to be retired to the garage come May.
6. I got great news last week. I was supposed to grad next May for my masters and it has been moved up a semester. I will have my Masters in Elementary Education with a concentration in Reading in December! I am seriously considering now getting my EdS in Reading from an online program that Auburn does after I finish this. I think it would be awesome to be a reading coach. And I would be estatic to receive a degree from Auburn :)
7. I've been trying out lots of new recipes lately and they haven't been turning out that great. I've been bummed. However Lauren I did try your chicken divan recipe and it was delish! Wes loved it as well...although I think I may tone down the amount of mayo...personal preference on both our parts....but ya'll should try it...it was fantastic.
8. Macy's latest thing lately is referring to herself in third person. Like I was over there a couple of weekends ago after church on Sunday. We were sitting down to eat. She says Candi you sit by Macy. And the other night Dad said he called and was talking to Chris and he heard Macy in the background so he tells Chris to tell Macy Pop wants to talk to her. She says Tell Pop Macy eat a orange! She was too busy to talk to him lol.
9. I've got serious spring cleaning on the to do list for this week and next. Both inside and out.
10. I hope everyone has a fantastic Tuesday! Enjoy the gorgeous weather!

Our New Little Additions
My kitty is a mommy
Right now out in our garage my kitty Savannah is giving birth. I don't know how many yet, when I checked a minute ago it was one so far. It's amazing to me. Savannah will be one on April 1 and now she is a momma cat. As soon as she is done and cleaned up and she will allow me I will take some pics to post.

10 on Tuesday
1. I am going shopping today!! Yeah!! Some new clothes here I come!
2. I am getting my hair cut soon. Like short. It just isn't working being long.
3. It's about to be flip flop season again. Love that time of year because I love flip flops and pretty toenails.
4. We got my swing put up yesterday. Whoo hoo...it's only been sitting in our garage for the last seven months. Now I just need to paint the frame white.
5. I'm trying to find a fun day trip for me and Wes for Saturday. It's our last weekend of being able to do anything for about a month and a half. The outage starts Sunday and I won't be seeing a lot of him.
6. I am trying to pick out flowers for our flower beds. I'm not really that great at that. I love flowers but I just have a black thumb. Hmm...
7. I really would like to thank the inventor of chewing gum. Especially sugarless chewing gum. It sometimes saves my insanity.
8. I'm so looking forward to my new car.
9. They are clearing off the land to the right of our house to start building houses there. I'm worried about it stirring up some unwanted creatures. Namely snakes. Just gives me the heebie jeebies thinking about it.
10. I'm so glad the weather is supposed to be in the 60's this week. Now I just hope that it stays there and we don't have another huge drop in temps. But this is Alabama so you never know!
Happy Tuesday everyone! I'm off to make the department stores some money :)
Hmm...

Some People Never Cease To Amaze Me
1. So I have blogged about little Zach a few times on here. Well pardon me but his mother is a real piece of work. She is 22, has two other children besides little Zach, tried to take one of my friends for all he is worth saying he was little Zach's dad, DNA test proved he wasn't, and she is refusing to tell who the real dad of little Zach is. Sounds like Jerry Springer. It gets better. She lives off the government, and acts like everyone owes her. She sleeps in till noon everyday and then makes her four year old wait on her hand and foot. She has been dating this guy who also has three children. He doesn't work either. They both live at home with their moms. So this weekend he proposes to her with a 2 carat diamond! Where did he get the money for that I have to wonder? You are going to live off the government but wear a 2 carat diamond? And now they have their own real life Brady Bunch. Man.
2. Saturday night me and Wes are eating at Rosies. Really enjoying a nice dinner. At the end of our meal here comes this little family to sit at the table behind us. The mother of this family was a loud mouth. She had big poofy hair that had so much hairspray in it that a piece of her hair could have cut glass. She had tips. She wore layers upon layers of makeup. And she was LOUD! The poor host who was sitting her only had 4 people wrote down on the ticket. She was pitching a fit because they had a baby with them as well. The host apologized and said he was sorry that all that was on the ticket was 4 people. The loud woman kept saying "My husband wouldn't have forgotten his own child!" with attitude dripping from every word. Then she goes to say We have been waiting for almost an hour (Lady get over it everyone waits at Rosies. We had to wait almost an hour and a half. It's just part of it. If you don't want to wait go somewhere else!) Then she demanded to see a manager. She made this huge scene. Then she had the audacity to turn around to us as we were leaving to ask us if we minded if she take the chips that we hadn't eaten. Really?? Um lady they will bring you all the chips you want...you don't have to ask complete strangers who are leaving for their leftover ones.
3. I have a dear friend who I love to death. I say that because what I am about to say might appear otherwise. She spent the night here Friday night. She reminded me of a child. I had to pick up after her. Like she left wrappers laying around my living room. Saturday morning we all were getting ready to go eat pancakes for my church's mission fundraiser. I had gotten up extra early to take a shower so everyone would have enough hot water and time. We have two bathrooms in our house but you can't run both showers at once. Someone wouldn't get enough water pressure. So my friend had wanted up at 7. I kept hearing her cell phone alarm going off but she never emerged from the guest room. Finally about 7:30 I go knock on the door, because we had wanted to leave at 8:30 and Wes still had to shower as well. So she finally gets up and she goes and turns on the shower and lets it run for about 10 minutes while she got things together. Okay two things: 1. You are wasting hot water when you do this. 2. This is not your house and I consider it rude to do that at someone else's house. Then she proceeds to take a 30 minute shower (making it 40 minutes total the water is going). She then comes to me complaining that the water had started to get cold at the end. Well what do you expect? My poor husband had to take a cold shower. To top it off, she had used two towels, and two washcloths. I was aggravated but I didn't say a thing.
So yeah I have to say that people sometimes well I can't find the right word right now. But I'm sure that everyone knows what I mean.
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their Monday.

A Few Happenings
So I haven't really felt like anything blog worthy (for this blog) has been going on lately. But I have had a few inspirations.
Last summer when we moved in we painted our kitchen, and master bath. Then we stopped because I got really frustrated with painting. Yet I keep hearing it's pretty easy to do so I have decided that I was doing something wrong. I am in the process of figuring out the best way to do this. Any tips from my friends out there? We were going to just hire it done but lately I have been bored out of my mind and I would really like to save the money for something else. So Wes begins an outage March 17th. He will be working nights, and sleeping during the day. So I think I am just going to surprise him and take on some of these home improvement projects myself. I'll start with the guest bath since it is smaller. :)
As soon as Wes' outage is over (hopefully mid April) we have serious landscaping issues to tackle. We are actually tackling a few before hand but this weather is not cooperating. Like Saturday is supposed to be gorgeously sunny...problem is the high is predicted to be only 36 degrees. I was afraid of this back in December when we were having some of those near 80 degree days. I figured we had to make up for it somewhere. But we have this nice plan drawn out and I told him we'd get it done. I am really looking forward to the finished product. I think what we drew up is pretty nice :) Now if we could only figure out the backyard lol.
I'm heading over to Michaels to pick up stuff to make a spring wreath for my front door. I'm DIYing so I'll take pictures to post as soon as I get it finished.
And finally we are on a T minus 2 months till I retire the old Alero and I get my brand spanking new Civic! Super excited here :)

A few things I have learned about myself...
1. I really like the group Led Zepplin...who knew lol?
2. I have some OCD tendencies such as if I am talking to you and I ask a question or make some sort of remark leading to understanding...I need an answer or else I feel like I am being ignored. My hubby is learning :)
3. I wish I was all Martha Stewarty but I am not. I accept that and do the best I can.
4. I am easily swayed and easily guilted. These two traits are ones I need to work on.
5. Hence #4 I tend to keep things I am doing or going through to myself especially from those close to me because one little remark or comment and I am leaning that way whether I want to or not.
6. We did a financial needs analysis and learned that we really don't have that much debt. Some debt but not a ton. Could be worse.
7. I have lots of uncharted interests. I am trying to explore those interest. For starters my mother in law is going to teach me to sew. Like using a sewing machine sewing. I am pretty pumped about it.
8. I am a procrastinator. I don't want to be a procrastinator.
9. I boredom eat. That's not a good thing to do for me.
10. I really enjoy looking at other people's houses. Not just decorating skills, but the design of the house as well.
I hope everyone had a great weekend.
