10 on Tuesday

1. I did something off of my "things to do in my lifetime list" on Friday. I rode in a hot air balloon. Okay so it was tethered and we only went up about 20 feet but hey it counts :) I have some pics but I have to play around with the lighting on them a little bit before posting. Wes (who didn't go up) forgot to set the lense to night so they are a little dark. But photoshop should work on them.
2. I have found a new gummy candy that I love love love. Sour Gummy Life Savers. I pretty much love all sour candy, so I am happy to find another to add to the list.
3. Starting this upcoming Sunday we are working Vacation Bible School at our church. Me and Wes will be working with preschoolers. Should be fun :)
4. Got a high school graduation on Friday night this weekend. And a wedding at the Huntsville Botanical gardens on Saturday. I'm really looking forward to the wedding. I bet it's going to be gorgeous. And I got a new dress for it so I am pumped :)
5. I am cleaning house today. It is gloomy outside, rainy and thundery, so I figured this would be a good activity to do today.
6. Finally watched American Gangster on Sunday night. I thought it was a good movie but man was it long. Also I was really amazed about the content of the movie. I was impressed with Russell Crowe's acting in it.
7. We also rented Untraceable and I think we are going to watch that tonight.
8. I am getting my haircut this week.
9. Gas has skyrocketed lately. It has me planning better my trips into town. Sunday we paid $3.89/gallon!
10. My cousin Will's girlfriend had their baby Friday morning. They had to do an emergency c-section on her because the baby was laying breech in the birth canal. But he's fine, weighed 7lbs 12ozs and had a headful of curly black hair. His name is Landon Bryant. I will get to see him Friday night.
Happy Tuesday all!

Sunday thoughts

It's 8am and I am fixing to head to get ready for church. I was thinking and I have so much to be grateful for.

1. My family, both biological and inherited :) Though at times they drive me crazy or I drive them crazy, I am lucky to have such a wonderful one.
2. My friends. I have some great ones. Old and new.
3. My husband. I really don't know what I would do with out him. He is my rock.

This weekend has been awesome so far. We saw Ironman Friday night. Run don't walk to your nearest theater and see it. It was Wes' pick and I wasn't sure about it going in. But man was it a great movie. Sidenote...do ya'll remember Mr. Stephen's from Cedar Ridge..taught art...do ya'll remember how he made us listen to that song when we were working?
Saturday we spent a lot of the day at the Honda dealership in Florence. But I got me a new ride :) It's a 2008 Honda Accord LXP and um yeah I love it.
Here is a quick picture of it sitting in our driveway that I took this morning.

Then we headed to Mr. Dash's 1st birthday. I took pics but due to the fact that it is other people's children I'm not publishing their pics on my blog without permission. I'm sure though that Colleen will have pics on her blog soon. (and I'm needing to memorize how to link...I have the info in my office but I'm in the living room and right now just to lazy to go get that piece of paper.) But most of ya'll that read my blog read her's too...so just go check it out when she gets them up. Oh and Roz and Patrice I have a couple of pics of ya'll and the girls. I'll email them to ya if you want...just let me know. Here is one pic of me and Wes at the party though. Excuse my hair...it's in desperate need of a haircut and I am working on that. :)

It was great seeing everyone there and Colleen, you did excellent with the festivites :) Man I can't believe he is a year old already!
Then after we went there we had to go to my friend Jennifer's grad party. So we had a day full of parties.
Today we are going to church, then shopping for Wes some shorts. I'm just super excited that he is back on his normal schedule and that we get our Sunday's back :) I wasn't liking the ones where we'd only get to go to church then he'd have to get back here so he could nap before having to go in to work.
Hope everyone has a great Sunday. Maybe this week will fly by because next weekend is a three day one...and the official kick off to summer!

10 on Tuesday except for it's Monday

1. T-Minus 5 days until the new car joins the McClanahan family.
2. I got the cutest video of Macy Saturday. We had my family over for a Mother's Day cookout. We were playing out front with bubbles and I recorded it all. It's got some funny parts. I'll post it later this week.
3. A special little boy is turning 1 this week :) I bet his momma would like to slow down time :)
4. Babies are all around. Congratulations to Lauren and Kevin. A little one is on the way for them to love :) They will be awesome parents.
5. Wes is still working 12 hour shifts but at least he's back on days.
6. I'm sooo ready for Disney World. It's about 6 weeks away.
7. We have some awesome new neighbors. They are from Trinity. They laid sod in their sides and back yards Saturday and they had like 2 and a half pallets left. So they gave it to us for FREE!! It was enough to do a decent portion of our side yard and probably saved us about $200 when we order the rest this week. Now I need to do something nice for them to say thank you.
8. I scored some deals at Old Navy. Got me some summer clothes :)
9. Wes has decided to take up golf. I'm getting him some brand new golf clubs for our anniversary. His old set needs to be replaced.
10. 4 classes to go with grad school! Woot Woot! Taking two this June and two this fall. I'll be super glad to be finished!

Hope everyone has a fantastic week!

I need some motivation!

It's raining outside. All I want to do is sleep! But I have a house to clean up. I'm trying to de-clutter and reorganize some stuff. Then I also need to clean before Saturday. Actually I need to do the cleaning part today because I need to prepare for the cookout on Saturday, tomorrow. That means grocery shopping for the stuff, and preparing anything that can be prepared ahead.
I have zip, zilch, zero motivation. And the rainy day is just making it worse! But I have to do this because as much as I love my mother she totally checks to make sure my house is in order anytime she visits lol :) So yeah I feel like it has to be up to standard :) Anyone else's mom do this? I find it funny most of the time.
I also have 20 thousand other little things to do that I keep putting off. I just need to kick my butt in gear! Need motivation...hmmmm I guess I could use the fact that I love the freshness of a newly cleaned house :) Okay going to put my ipod on and get busy!
Happy Thursday everyone!!

PS. Tonight is Wes' last night of night shift!! He goes back to his normal shift on Monday.
Woot Woot. I'm so happy because my schedule can get back on gear now :)

10 on Tuesday

1. In regards to my previous post on the civic vs accord I'm going to answer what Monica put in my comments section. I have test drove both already so that didn't really help me in the decision making...I liked the way both drove.
2. I have two high school graduations to go to this month. For two of my baby cousins. Man that makes me feel old!
3. We have decided to put hardwoods down in our living room and hallway. I am hoping that will do better for Wes' allergies.
4. I have to find a new bathing suit this year. I don't like to bathing suit shop but I really need a new one.
5. We are grilling out for my mom for Mother's Day on Saturday. On the menu is ribs, chicken, potato salad, grilled corn on the cob, a tomato and cucumber salad, and key lime pie. Yummy!
6. I bought new gerbera daisies. Here is hoping I don't kill these.
7. Mary Higgins Clark has come out with a new book. She is one of my favorite mystery authors. I'm patiently waiting till our Disney trip to read it though. I need something to read on the plane.
8. I'm taking a week long course at Hancock Fabrics this summer to learn how to sew. Yeah that is something I don't know how to do, and I really want to learn. So I am really excited about it :)
9. Two of my good friends are graduating Saturday with their masters. Congrats to Holly who is getting her masters in social work from Alabama and Congrats to Jennifer who is getting her masters in education from UNA. I'm proud of both of you :)
10. I cleaned out my closets yesterday and I filled three LARGE boxes of clothes to donate to Goodwill. That was both mine and Wes'. So now my closet is kind of bare. I guess that means new clothes for me! Lol and I guess Wes too :)

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Which one??

Okay so as ya'll may know or not know I'm getting a new car in a couple of weeks. In fact for the last six months I was set on a Honda Civic. Until this weekend.
Wes brings up the idea of a Honda Accord. So I do my research and compare the two. Here's my list.
1. The civic does get better gas mileage. But it's not a drastic difference.
2. The Accord is roomier in the backseat and the trunk. This is a plus for me because of hopefully a baby in the near future.
3. The price difference isn't that much.
5. The Accord seems like an "adult" car :)
6. Both cars have what I want on them as standard equipment...which is fabulous because it doesn't add money to it.
7. I actually like both cars and would be happy with either one of them.
Mainly I just never considered the Accord before because well I didn't realize it's an option. But I do like it, but I also like the civic. As of right now we are going the morning of the 17th to do this thing. So I guess I have a little under two weeks to make my decision. LOL I'm so not good with decisions.

My 10 on Tuesday: Thursday Edition

Hey I figure as long as the day of the week starts with a "T" a ten on whatever can be accomplished!

1. We have a finish date for this outage Wes is on. He will be back to his normal shift the 12th. Now lets keep fingers crossed that TVA doesn't decide to change it's mind. I miss not having my husband here at night.
2. I had a scare last night. I stayed up pretty late because I wasn't sleepy. I was sitting in my living room watching Zoey 101 (uh yeah there is nothing on after midnight but infomercials so that is why I was watching that one). I heard this weird tapping sound. I thought well it is windy outside so it's probably just that. Then it sounded like someone was trying to turn the knob on my back door!! I still don't know it it was my imagination but talk about scared silly! Thank goodness for locked doors and my alarm.
3. Man this week has been kicking my butt. I've been sick and not worth anything much. I feel like I have a ton to do and I haven't been doing too much due to only wanting to veg out and sleep. But I try to push through it.
4. Going to enjoy this weekend. This is the only weekend this month we don't have major plans.
5. Anyone got a good Key Lime Pie recipe? I want to make one for my mother's day cookout next weekend.
6. We are getting stepping stones for our moms. My friend Kara makes them. She made us one for our housewarming.

So we are going to get one with a "H" on it for my mom and one with a "M" on it for Wes' mom.
7. So I accidentally killed these. I'm not sure if it was from too much water or what I did??? I'm sad though. Here they are in their pretty days.

I'll be getting some more this weekend. Hopefully I won't kill the next ones.
8. We are now under the two month mark till Disney World. I have been trying to figure out which restaurants we are going to eat at. They have a special number that you can call and make reservations for things at. I am trying to take care of all that now. Disney's website lets you see all the menus of all the restaurants online. That is one helpful little tool.
9. Okay for you B'ham people. We are flying out of B'ham airport. Which means we have to park our car for the week. My question to you. Since I have the option to take our brand new car down there or the Alero...which do you think is the smarter thing to do? Is there any problems around the airport? I don't want to sound out like I could care less if my Alero got broken into but of the two if it was going to happen I'd much rather it be the Alero. Or would we be okay taking the new car? Sorry I've never flown out of B'ham before. I'd be okay leaving a new car at Huntsville but I just don't know about B'ham.
10. We are about 25 min from the Huntsville airport but I swear our house is in the flight path. A few times throughout the day I hear a plane flying overhead that is coming in for a landing.
Hope everyone has a fantastic Thursday! Only one more day till the weekend!
