10 on Tuesday

1. I think I have applied for 15 or so part time jobs in the past week. I have a bachelors degree, am one semester away from having a masters, and yet still no calls for a part time job.
2. Garage sale is this weekend.
3. I am finally using the birthday money that my in laws gave me by buying myself a new sewing machine.
4. Game Day is going to be at the Vandy/Auburn game this weekend. My brother in law is busy making a sign with the hopes of getting on t.v.
5. I'm saving money for a new MacBook. I'm pretty excited about getting one!
6. I'm making a pumpkin cheesecake. Yum!
7. I want a dust buster for Christmas. How boring of a gift is that lol?
8. Wes is going to make me a new desk. Our front bedroom is becoming the guest/craft room.
9. It feels soooo good outside!
10. I'm going to Gatlinburg with my mom Halloween weekend. I bet it's going to be gorgeous up there that time of year.

Happy Tuesday all!

Ramble, Jamble, my mind is Scrambled!

I've got so many things on my mind!
1. I am trying to find a part time job because I am not using my time wisely at home. I do better with structure and a schedule. I don't want to go back to the classroom because since we are trying to have our first baby, and I want to stay at home with it the first year, I don't want to get into the groove of a classroom again. Besides I want to still be able to pursue other interests and before when I was teaching I didn't feel like I could do that. So I have been perusing administrative jobs, and pre-school jobs. I think that I could enjoy either.
2. Realizing you are losing friendships are hard. Realizing that you have grown apart is hard. I've had to realize that recently, and even though I don't feel very settled about it, I don't really know what to do.
3. I've really been on edge lately. I usually have so much patience but let me tell you I have been tested a lot recently.
4. I am really bothered about my brother in law's choice to go back to his ex. Why? I haven't a clue. I mean he is almost 21 years old, he's old enough to choose for himself. It's just that I don't trust this girl at all. And I can't handle fake people. And I feel like she's a phony. The thought of her being at the holiday stuff is really bugging me. But what can I do about it? Nothing. He's a big boy and can make decisions for himself. I think he is making a poor one, but my opinion doesn't matter when it comes right down to it.
5. I have a list of to-do's around my house that is over a mile long. Do I have the desire to get them done? Yes! Do I have the motivation? Sometimes. So I just need to kick start my hiney into gear to accomplish this. I'm really overwhelmed!

I love my life, and I am blessed. But I'm not going to lie. Sometimes I wish I was a kid again. NO responsibilities...just fun! But then again...I am blessed and thankful.

Hope everyone has a great week! Maybe it'll go by fast. It's fixing to be October...craziness....things just speed by now :)

Fireproof

Wes and I saw this EXCELLENT movie last night. ALL couples who are serious, engaged, and married need to see this movie. I'm not going to get into the details but I will leave you with the link to read all about it yourself. Seriously ya'll this movie was great. Kirk Cameron has come so far in his life and he is a real inspiration. I saw him speak at my parents church in Decatur about 3 years ago. All I can say is WOW! So if you are looking for something to go see at the theater, then give this movie a look-see. It'll be worth it!

PS. If anyone is needing to get ahold of me on my cell phone you'll have to wait till Wednesday. I dropped my cell in the dish water when I was washing dishes Tuesday afternoon, and it fried it. So Verizon is sending me a new one, but it won't be here until Wednesday.

Thursday Something

This week has been so unproductive for me! I have LOTS to do trust me but I have been otherwise distracted.
1. I'm in the middle of planning my cousins lingerie shower. I got lucky and her best friends mom wants to incorporate a "favor" party in with it, so we will be able to do both.
2. I have got to finish getting my yard sale stuff together. It is a week from Saturday.
3. I'm going with my mom and some of her church friends to Gatlinburg Halloween weekend. My dad didn't want to go, so I'm going to go with her. Gatlinburg should be really pretty this time of year.
4. I mentioned earlier that we have decided to undertake the painting of the inside of our house ourselves. So I think that me and Wes' mom are going to start it in a couple of weeks.
5. My brother in law has gotten back together with his *&%#! of an ex-girlfriend. NO ONE is happy about this. This girl has cheated on him not once, not twice, but 3 times! And she is shallow as H-E- Double Hockey Sticks. UGH!!! I absolutely can not stand the thought of this. Zach can do soooo much better than her. Our suspicions are that she is only wanting him back because he has this really great paying internship right now, and she LOVES for him to buy her stuff. Last time she broke up with him, she waited until 2 days after Christmas to do it because he had bought her a brand new laptop for Christmas and she wanted to make sure she got it. He has also bought her a shitzu for her b'day in the past. Plus clothes galore! And only takes her out to the best places, yadayadayada...you get the drift. And now she comes drifting back around trying to act like nothing happened. Can I say again UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's enough for today! Hope ya'll all have an excellent Thursday!

Happy First Day of Fall Ya'll!

It is finally fall...my all time number one favorite season!! Yay!!
Now this week I am busting out my fall decorations. I'll post pictures after they are put out.
We have decided to resume our painting of the house. We were going to hire it done, because well I hate doing it, but we decided to save the money for other stuff so I guess we'll start with the living room. I gotta go get paint samples sometime this week.
Hope ya'll have a great Monday! I'm hoping mine goes okay...so far so good.

10 on Tuesday

1. We are having salsa chicken with mashed potatoes tonight for dinner. Yum :)
2. I think Samantha Brown from the travel channel has got the BEST job in the world. I mean she gets to travel all over the world and get paid for it!
3. I love the free credit report commercials...they make me smile/laugh every time. But the songs get stuck in my head!
4. I bawled last night while watching One Tree Hill. It was one of the saddest episodes I had ever seen. I think I am just emotional lately.
5. I am addicted to a homemade cheese ball I make. I made one for our Saturday football watching and yeah it's Tuesday and it is gone. And the sad part is I am considering making another one!
6. I was very upset with my kitties when I got up this morning. I have a bakers rack in my kitchen that has my small collection of chef items on it. Well sometime during the night they had jumped on it (BIG no-no!!) and knocked off this cute chef candy holder my mom got me last Christmas. It completely decapitated him!!
7. I am in major clean out mode with my house. Me and mom are having a garage sale on October 4th and I am really trying to get rid of things I don't use and or need.
8. I love this little device on my car. It is a percentage thing that keeps up with my oil. When it reaches 15% it tells me I need to get my oil changed. No more guessing! I just love my car!!
9. Last night me and Wes were working on our monthly budget for the upcoming October (per Dave Ramsey) and we also decided to write down some things for our Big Purchase Wish List. I don't want a lot of things, but what I want is big ticket items. But we have this list tacked to our fridge and it helps with motivation to save for purchases. We are no longer a credit buying family. With the crap that happened with my card, and with our new found way of living we swore off credit cards.
10. Speaking of the credit crap. We got it taken care of and we didn't have to pay a dime. We were able to score the tapes from two of the places that my card was used, thanks to the help of the Limestone County sheriffs department. Even though we aren't sure who had the card, they were able to prove that neither me nor Wes was at checkout counter nor the store at the time the purchases were made. These were turned over to the investigation team at Bank of America and so the charges were cleared off my card. So it worked out that we didn't have to pay the credit balance, nor any lawyer fees. You just don't know how much my stress level has dropped after all this!
Bonus: Most of you know this...but please please let me be a lesson to you. Always Always keep track of your information. Credit theft/identity theft is no fun. I know that Monica and Lauren know this as well. I'm just glad that it is over with.

Happy Tuesday all!!

A Saturday spent watching college football...

is really one of the best ways I could spend the day. What's even funnier is Wes is asleep on the couch...what is wrong with this picture?? :)
I made all kinds of yummy game foods and we have already watched Tennessee beat UAB. Right now we (or I) am watching a pretty good game of Georgia vs. South Carolina. I'm rooting for South Carolina because they are the underdog. But I will say I really like Georgia's coach and there QB. Matthew Stafford has a canon for an arm. Amazing!
Tonight of course I will be glued to ESPN2 watching Auburn vs Mississippi State. My brother in law called earlier...he is in Starkville for the game, and he said that the cowbells are ANNOYING!!! Haha...they are breaking them out even before the game. We had a long discussion about those things at dinner last Saturday night down in Auburn. Zach's friend Stephen, who is from Mississippi, said that the first ever college football game he went too was a Mississippi State game back when he was in high school, and he witnessed some old lady banging this young guy over the head with his own cowbell. I guess she thought it was annoying too...haha!
Another random fact I learned about the SEC today. Did you know that they make conference issues of playboy magazine? Like they have a Big 10 issue, ACC, SEC, etc. The only rule for it is that they can't show the girls bottom half. So yeah they go around to the college campuses and recruit these girls to pose for these editions of playboy. Interesting.
Okay so this is a random post, but I felt like posting :) Happy weekend all!
And........

War Eagle!! ( you knew that was coming I am sure :) )

10 on Tuesday

I'll try to come up with 10.

1. I'm busy sewing this week. Maybe I'll finish one of my projects and be able to post pics.
2. Dave Ramsey is going great. We are really learning a lot about money and how to manage it.
3. I'm so frustrated that for some reason I can't seem to make cookies. Not the homemade kind. I mess them up every single time!
4. I got soooo sunburned at the Auburn game Saturday. I am having to moisturize my face like twice a day, and I don't have to wear any make-up because my bright red face would come right through it lol.
5. Has any of ya'll ever watched The Secret Life of the American Teenager on ABC Family? I caught a mini marathon of it a couple of weeks ago, then I have watched the last couple Tuesday nights of it. Tonight is the season finale. It's a pretty interesting little show.
6. My one guilty pleasure show is One Tree Hill. Even though I am disappointed that Lucas chose Peyton instead of Brooke, I'm really enjoying the new season of it. Next week's episode is going to be a tear jerker.
7. Our revised class reunion plans includes the football game Friday night. Guess who Austin plays? Buckhorn, the team my brother coaches for. Too funny.
8. I'm getting some really good ideas together for my cousin Ashley's Naughty and Nice Shower. I'm really looking forward to it!
9. So I think the fall decorations are going to make an appearance this weekend.
10. This one is for Colleen. She asked how the video at the Auburn game was. I got part of it on video. Sorry it's not the best quality, but in answer to your question the video was chill bump inducing as usual :)

Auburn vs Southern Miss

We had a blast yesterday although both Wes and I are burnt! We also got soaked during a pour down in the last few minutes of the game. Here are a few pictures!

Poor Spirit had a little bit of a directional problem yesterday. But he finally made it :)

An easy way to make a few extra dollars

Okay I have a subscription to Woman's Day. I really enjoy the magazine because it always has good tips and interesting stories. And my latest copy gave me an easy way to pocket some extra cash.

This website:

www.cash4books.net

I sold three of my old college textbooks to them and received $43.85 for them! Easy peasy. You just put in the ISBN numbers (either found on the back cover or on the copyright page) and it tally's up how much, and if they are buying it. They take pretty much any kind of book, as long as it is in good condition. AND they pay for shipping!! You just print off the free shipping label they provide you, stick it on a box, and off it goes. I'll be sending mine out tomorrow. You can either receive payment by check or paypal. They let you decide.

Anyway I just wanted to pass this on. I tried out about 8-9 books and they bought three...better than nothing :) But I have tons more that I can put in and see, and I plan on doing that. Try it out, what can it hurt?
